Jokes for Show #23

- UC San Diego accidentally sent out emails welcoming 29,000 high school seniors — whose applications the university had, in fact, rejected. As an act of good will, the Dean of Admissions told affected high schoolers that now they COULD attend the school. He added, “NOT!”
- CBS has cancelled long-running soap opera “Guiding Light” after 72 years and 16,000 episodes. I KNEW they’d never last!
- President Obama gave the Queen of England an iPod during his visit with her today. I wonder what songs are on it, though. I’m guessing, “Dancing Queen.” That’d be fitting.
- ER will air its final episode on NBC tomorrow. Which is ironic, since now the entire network needs life support.
- And, of course, it’s April Fool’s Day, a day when we laugh at the easily fooled, gullible people around us. Or, as former President Bush calls it, Wednesday.
I don’t know what you are doing a few of these jokes are funny and would be monologue material, but most are not funny at all,and seems like they are intentionally not funny. You shoud pick a definite route, either be serious about trying to make funny jokes, or make nothing but intentionally not funny jokes. I like the pistachio bit and last 3 jokes on this post starting with the queen, but I am confused with what you are trying to do with the rest.
I appreciate the feedback. All my jokes are certainly attempts to be Fallon-monologue funny. I do find that different people think some jokes are hilarious, and that others are completely unfunny — but that which jokes are hilarious and which aren’t varies from person to person.
To me, that makes sense. During a comedy film, some jokes will make me laugh out loud, and some will make you, and some will make us both. And that’s okay. Right?
hey i got a laugh out of em
Some are good. To be fair, most “monologue jokes” make me snicker at best. Jon Stewart leads with a 36% snicker rating. These were around there.
